Hey buddy! Nice blog that you maintain here.. I just chanced upon your blog surfing the blogosphere. I was thinking.. you could try out some interesting widgets on your page and spice it up with some great pictures. E.g try out the poster widget on http://www.widgetmate.com with your relevant keywords. It has some of the best images i have ever seen.

SO glad to see meetings listed online, so thanks much. As an old-school AAer, I used to have to go to a clinic/hospital or the police station and ask, as the world directory is iffy. Will be traveling by van from Eugene, OR in early October, so will be there when I get there and am looking forward to meeting all of you. Sure do like the thought of a meeting on the beach! Just went to one in Carbonear, Newfoundland two weeks ago. Amazing program...

Ross, La Misson is where you'll find many of the meetings. I was just there in February. It was wonderful. I went to the Friday night meeting and met folks who took me to the Saturday morning on the beach. Wow!! it was so spiritual. And everyone was super nice. Good luck to you and have a great time. Hi, I'm travelling to Mazatlan, will be there Sept 13-21. Was looking for some middle ages or older AAs who might like to do something (a meal, an excursion) during the day or eve together.

Looking forward to the meetings there. I hear it is a great group.

Corrections and clarifications.

We are still at the same address. VIP restaurant and Baskin Robbins are gone. We are between the Applebys and Panama Restaurants. Cross streets are Paseo Lomas de Mazatlan and Sierra de Venados. You can walk there from most places in the Zona Dorada. All buses that go to Zona Dorada pass right by us.

At present we are the only english speaking meeting in the area. There are many spanish meetings. Two are in our same complex (we are the last office).

In the past we have had meetings every day in the high season but not during the summer. As of this date:

Monday 6:30 pm open meeting

Tuesday 11:00 am open womens

Tuesday 6:30 pm open mens

Wednesday 6:30 pm open meeting

Thursday 6:30 pm open meeting

Friday 6:30 pm open meeting

Saturday 10:00 am open beach meeting. Same beach location but tables and chairs are now provided.

Saturday 6:30 No meeting at this time

Sunday 10:00 am open meeting

Alanon Returning soon for the high season

All meetings except the beach meeting are at Camaron Sabalo.

OK... I know this is a Blog but I am the first member of the group in four years to post. Don´t post and expect an answer. Come to the meeting.

Hi Tom,
And love to Roger and all the members of the Mazatlan group.

I am an Australian who visited this year before San Antonio, and I was welcomed and felt "at home" in both the English and the Spanish-speaking meetings in Mazatlan.

I may not get back to Mazatlan although I am likely to return to Cancun where I went to meetings after San Antonio and where I still have a timeshare.

More power to the AA members in Mazatlan!

Thanx Ross. To all....Google maps has our location wrong. We are on Camaron Sabalo almost exactly where Sierra de Venados joins it. the location of some hotels are also incorrect. I believe the Tues womens meeting might meet at 10 am but cannot say for sure.

Trish Decemeber 09, 2010. Our meeting is an easy walk from the Costa de Oro. When you come out the from door go right. 3 blocks just past Panama Restaurant and Oxxo store. Same side of the street as the hotel. Look for the gated arch shown on this site. I am close by. He can call me and we can walk over toghether. Tom 986-2301. If he gets my machine leave name/room number. We are a small/informal group. Hope he comes/calls. Take care.

Hello Tom J.

Jeff said he has this information and I am hoping by now that you have met him. I am holding down the fort with our 6 yr old boy and hoping that these meetings are helping Jeff but he is not talking about it and I am not sure if he is attending. Can you help put my fears to rest and at least tell me if he has been going? I am worried as the reason why he went there for so long was to get help in an area where no one would know he was going to AA. Thank you for your understanding and all your help!
Trish

Dec 16, 2010 Trish We never speak of who attends or does not attend. I urge you to find an Alanon meeting near you. Many people who have loved ones with drinking problems have found great support there. Good luck to you. Take care.

Good comment Tom. I was about to say the same. I'm 36 years sober now and my wife joined Al-Anon about the same time as I got sober and it has been the best thing in our lives. I visited Mazatlan earlier this year and am now home in Australia. It was a great group and regards to all!
Love, peace & action,

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate it. I think Alanon is a great idea and I want to say that you are all doing an incredible job doing what you're doing. It takes courage and strength to get help and I think you all should be commended. On behalf of all spouses of those with addictions....I thank you !!!!
Best wishes on your journeys.

Im grateful to this blog. I was recently in Mazatlan and was very happy to attend the meeting at 6:30pm. Thanks to everyone who is active in maintaining AA in MZT!

Also.... if you need bigger landmarks to find the meeting, its a about halfway in between Burger King and Oxxo on Camaron Sabalo.

Thanks, Tom J. and other for maintaining this blog. I don't know if you knew, but I have published a database of AA meetings throughout Mexico on my web site for many years. I had not heard from anyone in Maz for a few years so my info was naturally outdated. Please keep in touch so I can help you spread the word. 'Mexico' Mike.

I came to meetings back when it was at the El Cid in the 1980's and other places in the 1990's as well. Keep up the good work.

Posted your new info in my new database. The entry is AA in Mexico

Hi Everyone. This is a great group with some very good sobriety going on. I make sure to plan around a few meetings every time we sail into Mazatlan. The meeting is easy to reach and right on the bus line. If you are looking for a reference point from the Golden Zone look for the Panama Restaraunt and go south -towards the Malacon and Burger King or McDonalds- to the middle of the next block. It is on the ocean side of the road. Kat Russell

The meeting is easy to find. The directions that The one person gave about it being close to the restuant Panama is good. When you go through the entrance at El Mision go to the far back English on the left Spanish on the right hahaha. I would suggest that if people want to bring English and Spanish AA stuff to the meetings that would be great. It is hard to get .

My names is Denny and I am an Alcoholic here in Mazatlan and attend meeting regularly.
This blog was created somewhere around 2006 and the administer for it is no longer available. Since then there have been changes that have not been entered here.
For example, It was recognized that a meeting was needed in "el Centro". So, for the past 5 years we have "THE BACK TO BASICS GROUP" that is a closed AA meeting and meets every FRIDAY at NOON. Address: Melville Hotel, #99 Calle Constitution. (1 1/2 Blocks west from the Macado Square towards the Malecon).
The La Mision Group is still alive and well. If you are coming here during the off season, I would suggest you phone to confirm the meeting schedule.
As of 1 December 2014, my number is 910-0149 for the B2B Group and Roger for the La Mision @ 118-4260. We are both knowledgeable of what is happening at both groups.
From Canada or the USA the #s are:
Denny: (403)266-9370
Roger: (810)444-1877
